NEET UG

NEET UG is the sole entrance examination in India for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and other undergraduate medical and dental courses in government and private institutions. It is a highly competitive national-level test with millions of aspirants annually.

• Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year

• Education: Passed or appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English

• Minimum marks: 50% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, 45% for PwD (in PCB subjects)

• Nationality: Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals are eligible

• Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany + Zoology)

• Total questions: 200 (180 to be attempted: 45 in each section)

• Question Type: MCQs

• Section Format: Each subject has 2 sections – Section A (35 Qs), Section B (15 Qs; attempt any 10)

Based on NCERT Class 11 & 12 curriculum:

• Physics: Motion, Thermodynamics, Current Electricity, Optics, Modern Physics

• Chemistry: Structure of Atom, Equilibrium, Organic Chemistry, Biomolecules

• Biology: Cell Structure, Genetics, Evolution, Human Physiology, Ecology, Reproduction

• Strong command over NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks

• Practice with mock tests and previous year papers

• Focus on Biology as it carries the highest weightage

• Use time-bound revision strategies and daily study goals

• Attempt full-length OMR-based mock tests regularly
