Full Name: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Postgraduate
NEET PG is the single eligibility-cum-ranking examination for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses across medical colleges in India (except for AIIMS, JIPMER, PGI Chandigarh, and NIMHANS which are included under INI-CET). It is mandatory for all government and private college admissions for postgraduate medical courses.
Qualification: MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized by the NMC
Internship: Completion of one-year internship on or before the specified date (usually 31st March of exam year)
Registration: Valid registration certificate issued by NMC/State Medical Council
Nationality: Indian citizens, NRIs, and Foreign Nationals (subject to regulations)
Total questions: 200 (reduced from 300 since 2021)
Duration: 210 minutes
Type: MCQs with single correct response
Negative marking: Yes (-1 for incorrect answers)
